Edge Editions is an independent publishing imprint devoted to the study of place through material culture, landscape, and visual evidence. Founded by historian and photographer Bradford A. Fuller, the press focuses on regional history as a form of inquiry—grounded in archives, objects, land records, and lived environments rather than narrative alone.
For more than a decade, Fuller has researched and published illustrated histories of the Saco River Valley in western Maine, with particular attention to Fryeburg and Brownfield. His work brings together maps, photographs, domestic artifacts, legal documents, and Indigenous and colonial spatial histories to examine how land was measured, settled, worked, and remembered. These projects treat local history not as anecdote or nostalgia, but as a lens through which larger questions of memory, labor, displacement, and continuity can be examined.
Current work centers on a manuscript exploring the material and archival history of the Saco River Valley, developed through long-term archival and field research. The project is interdisciplinary in approach, drawing on environmental history, material culture studies, and visual scholarship, and is intended for readers interested in Maine history, New England settlement, and the material practices through which history becomes legible.
